Green Globes and the Living Building Challenge join LEED in passing the GSAâ€™s review for use in federal projects, an increase from just LEED in 2007.

One of the things I find most interesting about this article is this statement:
“… the report notes that â€śnone of the systems discussed in this report ensures that a building will meet Federal sustainable design requirements (once certified), or that the building will perform optimally. Federal sector high-performance, sustainable design and operations requirements can be met without the use of a green building certification system.”
The article goes on to say essentially these systems can be a valuable checklist to basically ensure you are on track to meet federal guidelines and they do not mandate one over the other.
So I guess I am a bit puzzled by what this “approval” really means.
